Interest rates

Here are 2 easy ways to find interest rates on our savings accounts.

1. Find your current interest rate

To find the interest rate on your savings account with us simply enter the first 3 digits of your account number and select 'Find'

Previous rates and rates that are no longer offered to new applications can be found in closed issue accounts.



2. Browse savings interest rates by type of account

To find our current interest rates simply select the type of account and select 'Find'


Interest rates - internet accounts

The tables below show interest rates for our internet savings accounts. All rates are variable, unless otherwise stated.

DirectSaver (accounts beginning with 850, 851)

Rates effective from 2 April 2009. Interest paid monthly. No interest earned on balances outside the minimum and maximum investment limits. Free withdrawals in July. No interest earned on the account balance for any other month in which a withdrawal is made or the account is closed. The AER will be lower if you withdraw. Interest credited to the nominated current account will not be treated as a withdrawal and therefore will not be subject to loss of interest.

PlusSaver

Rates effective from 2 April 2009. Balances between £1 and £50,000 in accounts opened before 1 December 2008 may qualify for a 0.75% bonus (giving a rate of 0.85% gross AER). For accounts opened between 1 January 2008 and 31 March 2008 this bonus will be paid until 31 March 2009. For accounts opened between 1 April 2008 and 30 June 2008 this bonus will be paid until 30 June 2009. For accounts opened between 1 July 2008 and 28 September 2008 this bonus will be paid until 30 September 2009. For accounts opened between 29 September 2008 and 07 December 2008 this bonus will be paid until 7 December 2009.

Rates effective from 2 March 2009. Balances between £1 and £50,000 in accounts opened before 1 December 2008 may qualify for a 0.75% bonus (giving a rate of 0.90% gross AER). For accounts opened between 1 January 2008 and 31 March 2008 this bonus will be paid until 31 March 2009. For accounts opened between 1 April 2008 and 30 June 2008 this bonus will be paid until 30 June 2009. For accounts opened between 1 July 2008 and 28 September 2008 this bonus will be paid until 30 September 2009. For accounts opened between 29 September 2008 and 07 December 2008 this bonus will be paid until 7 December 2009.

Online Saver Issue 7 (accounts beginning with 037, 038)

Rates effective from 2 February 2010. The account must be opened with a minimum balance of £1,000 but thereafter interest will be paid on balances from £1 to £2,000,000. Variable rate without bonus currently 0.50% gross p.a.

Direct ISA Issue 5 (accounts beginning with 600, 612)

Rates effective from 6 January 2010. Rate includes a bonus payable until 15 February 2011. Variable rate without bonus currently £1 - £8,999 0.50% gross p.a., £9,000+ 1.00% gross p.a. If you are aged 50 or over by 5 April 2010 your annual cash ISA allowance is £5,100. If you are aged under 50, the limit is £3,600 this tax year.

Premier Regular Saver (accounts beginning with 030)

Rates effective from 3 August 2009. Premier Regular Saver is only available when you switch to a new Premier Direct or Premier 50 Current Account. You will need to switch all your direct debits/standing orders to the current account using our Premier Switching Service within 11 weeks of the account opening and meet the conditions of the Premier Current Account otherwise the Premier Regular Saver may be closed.

Premier Regular Saver (accounts beginning with 068)

Rates effective from 18 January 2010. Premier Regular Saver is only available when you switch to a new Premier 50 or Premier Direct Current Account. You will need to switch all your direct debits/standing orders to the current account using our Premier Switching Service within 11 weeks of the account opening and meet the conditions of the Premier Direct or Premier 50 Current Account otherwise the Premier Regular Saver may be closed.
